Students from Larkin Community College off O’Connell Street in Dublin have teamed up with Localise, an NGO working with young people, the US Embassy in Dublin and gardener Diarmuid Gavin and a team of volunteers to transform over the course of a week waste ground at the Simon long term housing facility at Sean MacDermott Street, Dublin 1.
The students and volunteers will work in partnership with Diarmuid Gavin, who has designed a garden for the project. The Garden of Hope will offer the long term residents a place of tranquility. The project launch takes place on Friday, 26th April, at 11am. They hope to complete the garden by Saturday, 4th May.
