The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Mr Jimmy Deenihan TD, will launch the first Artist in Residence programme at the Gibson Hotel, Point Village, Dublin, on Tuesday, 8th October, at 6pm. John Morris, a native of Dublin who has exhibited throughout Ireland, is the first recipient of the Gibson Hotel programme. He will be resident at the hotel for the next 10 weeks where he will be uniquely placed to capture the changing face of Dublin’s waterfront and docklands. This is the first time a hotel in Ireland has offered residency to an artist.
