After almost 10 days of hard work carried out by a team of volunteers, the Garden of Hope at the Simon Housing facility at Sean MacDermott Street, Dublin 1, will be unveiled on Tuesday, 7th May. Work on transforming waste ground behind the facility began on Friday, 26th April, with volunteers drawn from Larkin Community College, the US embassy, and a team of landscape architects and gardeners led by Diarmuid Gavin. The project was co-ordinated by Localise, an NGO working with young people.

Transforming the waste ground into a tranquil garden has been a labour of love for all those involved, particularly the students from Larkin College, who came up with the project to help those disadvantaged in society.
